A 19th-century Napoleon III-style cabinet in black lacquered wood, decorated with gold-coloured medallions, scrolls and foliage. Gilt-bronze corner mounts frame the curved case. A single front door opens to wooden shelves, beneath an inset white marble top.

Materials: Black lacquered wood, gilt-bronze mounts and white marble.

Condition: Antique, with scratches, rubbing and uneven sheen to the black finish, particularly on the side panels and lower mouldings. The gilt decoration and mounts show age-related wear; the marble has natural veining and surface marks. Original photographs show the top, interior and worn side finish.
